University of Wah held its 12 Convocation on 16 November 2024, at UW Auditorium to honor the remarkable achievements of its graduating students. The Governor of the Punjab and Chancellor of the University, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, presided over the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Dignitaries, educationists, distinguished guests, faculty members, community representatives, graduating students, and their families attended the ceremony. In his welcome address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi congratulated the graduates and expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Punjab for his presence and steadfast support. He praised the graduating students' dedication, resilience and acknowledged the important support from their families, teachers, and friends.
Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi emphasized the University of Wah's (UW) dedication to excellence beyond academics by fostering creativity, innovation, and ethical values. He highlighted UW’s achievements, including receiving two consecutive Academic Excellence Awards, attaining high positions in the Times Higher Education THE Impact Rankings, and securing substantial research grants. UW has broadened its programs to meet global demands and is now eligible to apply for prestigious world rankings, including the QS Asia University Rankings. He also apprised that UW's Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization has attained the 'X' category on the HEC Self-Assessment Scorecard, reflecting UW's improved research output and strategic partnerships. Addressing the graduates, he underscored the importance of continuous learning, integrity, and empathy, urging them to apply their knowledge to inspire positive change and emerge as future innovators and leaders.
During the ceremony, thirty-six students received Gold Medals, Distinguished Students’ Awards, and the prestigious Student of the Year Award for outstanding academic and leadership achievements. Degrees were conferred upon 1,157 students from various faculties, including Basic Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Sciences, Social Sciences & Humanities.
In his address, Chancellor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan congratulated the passing out students on their academic achievements and encouraged them to apply their knowledge and skills to improve the society. He commended the University of Wah’s faculty and administration for their commitment to academic and research excellence. He acknowledged the institution’s vital role in shaping future leaders equipped to tackle global challenges.
The ceremony concluded with the Chief Guest extending his heartfelt felicitations to the graduates and their families, wishing them success in their future endeavors. He encouraged them to remain lifelong learners and contribute positively to the society. The 12th Convocation highlighted the University of Wah's commitment to academic excellence and its goal of nurturing future leaders and innovators.
