University of Wah has come a long way in a rather short span of time. In accordance with our motto "Quality education for all", the university endeavors to provide affordable quality education to the youth of Pakistan. Starting from a unique class-learning experience, the university offers value-addition modules, as add-ons, to enhance the technical and communication skills of our students. In addition, capacity building short courses, a strong and vibrant student-run society culture, to promote co- and extra-curricular activities, allows the students to directly interact with the industry and corporate world. The UW family has resolved to transform this seat of higher learning into a research-intensive university. Being the Vice Chancellor, I firmly believe in UW's potential to serve as a catalyst in inculcating social, ethical and personal values in students. At the same time, booming research culture will further enhance its standing as a premier institution of Higher Education.
UW offers BS, MS and PhD programs in the fields of Engineering, Basic Sciences, Computer Science, Management Sciences, and Social Sciences & Humanities. The geographical location of UW, in the neighborhood of world heritage city of Taxila, motivated us to establish a Gandhara Chair at the university and we have developed a tourist map for selected Buddhist heritage sites spread all over Pakistan. Our forte includes highly qualified faculty, with more than 95% HEC approved supervisors, our strong academia-industry linkages, especially with the POFs and nearby strategic R&D organizations, our commitment to preserve cultural heritage and our R&D activities.
This year UW has been ranked 9th among Pakistani Universities by Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. All the programs offered by UW are duly approved by the relevant accreditation councils. The University is ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organizational Management System (EOMS) certified. Moreover, the University has attained membership of various National and International Quality Assurance Bodies like International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) to give our students the opportunity to develop a global mindset and ensuring that our graduates are preferred by top employers across the globe.
