Dr. Asma Arif, Chairperson, Department of Economics, University of Wah, delivered a guest lecture on “Concept of Green Development Facilitates the Enhancement of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)” at F.G. Postgraduate College for Women, Wah Cantt, on 13 May 2025. The session, attended by faculty and students, including Dr. Sania Shaheen, Ms. Rehana Ali Naqvi, Mr. Afzal Baig, and Mr. Sheryar Malik, focused on the role of Green Economic Growth within the CPEC framework and its alignment with China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Dr. Arif highlighted environmental sustainability, socio-economic impacts, labor market transformation, and the strengthening of China-Pakistan relations through green initiatives. She also presented policy recommendations for enhancing green collaboration under CPEC, backed by data from ongoing and completed projects. The interactive session concluded with a Q&A and a commemorative shield presented to Dr. Arif by Ms. Naqeeba Tausif, Acting HOD. Following the lecture, Dr. Arif met with faculty and Principal Prof. Zohra Jabeen to discuss future academic partnerships and joint research initiatives between the two institutions.
