Program Details

The PhD Management at the University of Wah is an interdisciplinary programme that provides exposure to global best practices and training in rigorous research methods, while focusing on social impact both in a specialised local context and in terms of the global economy. Our PhD graduates have the expertise to use theory and empirical research to solve complex challenges in public, private and non-profit sectors in Pakistan and abroad. PROGRAM STRUCTURE

University of Wah as per the guidelines of HEC offers PhD Management Sciences of 48 credit hours. Program Structure of PhD Management Sciences is as follows:-

PHD Management Sciences: 3 Years (6 Semesters)
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for admission to MS, the candidate
    • Should possess Master Degree (18 Years) or its equivalent in the relevant discipline.
    • Should possess Master Degree (18 Years) or its equivalent in the relevant discipline.
    • Must have 3.00/4.00 CGPA or its equivalent.
    • Must have earned Master Degree with course work and thesis.
    • Must have cleared GRE-Subject (Minimum 60 Percentile), or GAT-Subject (Minimum 60% Marks),
     or UW Entry Test (Minimum 70% Marks)
    • Should qualify the interview conducted by the Departmental Admission Committee in which admission
     is sought.
  • Duration: 3 Years
  • Semesters: 6
  • Total Credit Hours: 48
  • Course Work Credit Hours: 18
  • Thesis Credit Hours: 30

SCHOLARSHIPS / FINANCIAL SUPPORT

a. Merit Based Scholarship:


    • 50% Tuition fee waiver in First semester for students with minimum CGPA ≥ 3.65 in MS
    • 50% Tuition fee waiver for students with minimum GPA in previous Semester ≥ 3.65
    OR
    • 50% Tuition fee waiver for students with Satisfactory research progress duly certified by Supervisor
    in Case of Non-graded Previous Semester
    • TA’s are not eligible for merit Scholarship

b. Graduate Student Assistantship

A total of 2 Assistantships will be offered per year/department based on merit.

Eligibility

    • MSc/MA/MS qualification (Enrolled in PhD)
    • CGPA ≥ 3.00
    • Maintain GPA ≥ 3.00 in the following semester
    • Satisfactory research progress

Responsibilities

    • Maximum of 9-12 Contact Hrs. per week (Labs/Administrative Tasks)
    • Enrollment in courses/research in regular semester (Fall/Spring) is mandatory

Fee Waiver

    • 100% tuition fee waiver

Stipend

    • Rs. 15,000/- per month

Contract Period

    • Minimum residency of the program i.e., 3 years

Terms and Conditions

    For Assistantship NOC/BOND is required to be submitted.
    Assistantship is subject to satisfactory progress report to be submitted by the Chairperson in the mid and at the end of semester.
    In case a student wishes to discontinue Assistantship, he/she will have to surrender all the benefits.

c. Fee Concession for Graduate Programs

    • 15% Tuition Fee Concession to the children of POF Employees
    • 15% Tuition Fee Concession to the Alumni of UW (within two years of last degree completion)
