    Mashal Degree College Prize Distribution Ceremony 2019

    Mashal Degree College organized Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony on 17th September 2019 to acknowledge the achievements of the students for the academic year 2018-2019. Prof Khaliq ur Rehman Shad SI(M), Vice Chancellor, University of Wah graced the ceremony as Chief Guest. He distributed awards amongst the successful students and presented Commendation Certificates to faculty members in recognition of their contributions. He lauded the endeavors put forth by the Students and the Faculty members for displaying excellent results and earning laurels for their institution. He also congratulated Ms. Zainab Nadeem for securing 1st position in Humanities group and Ms. Mahnoor Usman for securing 4th position in Pre-Medical Group in HSSC-II FBISE Annual Examination, 2019. He further highlighted Administrative support in infrastructural developments to accelerate academic brilliance at MDC. Kalam-e-Iqbal was also presented on the occasion. At the end, a video clip from the movie “Jinnah to Quaid” was shown to the audience to exhibit Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s views on “Rights for All and Women Empowerment”.

    Kashmir Solidarity Day

    University of Wah arranged a rally on 30th August, 2019 to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day in response to the call of Prime Minister of Pakistan. The objective was to reiterate Pakistan’s firm resolve to stand by Kashmir against Indian atrocities. A complete solidarity with freedom-seeking brethren of Kashmir was expressed and the members renewed Pakistan’s pledge to continue rendering its unwavering moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmir’s struggle for emancipation from Indian subjugation. National anthems of Pakistan and AJ & K were also played on the occasion.

    Tree Labeling Drive

    University of Wah initiated botanical tagging of trees to promote floral diversity in Quaid Campus through a “Tree Labeling Drive” on 30 th August, 2019. Prof Khaliq ur Rehman Shad SI(M) graced the ceremony as chief guest. He highlighted the significance of conserving rare and endemic plant species to endorse environmental stability. Later on, he inaugurated the drive by labeling a tree Araucaria heterophylla in Admin Block- UW, followed by Dean Basic Sciences and Principal Officers.

    11th Meeting of the Board of Governors

    11th Meeting of the Board of Governors of University of Wah was held on 7th August, 2019 at Seminar Hall-UW. Chairman POFs Board and Chairman Board of Governors, UW, Lt.General Sadiq Ali HI(M) chaired the meeting. Prof.Khaliq ur Rehman Shad SI(M), Vice Chancellor, UW highlighted the academic and administrative benchmarks achieved by the University since the last BOG meeting. Different academic, financial and administrative decisions were taken by the Board. Chairman, Board of Governors appreciated the endeavors of University management in improving all facets of the University. The Chairman also stressed on further strengthening of the academic programs and research to place the University amongst the leading higher educational institutions of the country.

    Workshop on Developing Academic Writing Skills

    Department of English, University of Wah organized one day workshop titled “Developing Academic Writing Skills” on 3 May, 2019 to hone the academic writing skills of faculty and students. The workshop aimed at familiarizing the participants with different strands of scholarly writing. The guest speakers from Air University included Dr Akhtar Abbas, Manager, Corpus Research Center and Dr Tehsin Zahra, Coordinator, Corpus Research Center. The workshop was divided in two sessions. Dr Akhter Abbas delivered keynote speech on “Scholarly Conventions of Reporting Results: A Comment on Data Commentary” followed by a practice session for faculty while Dr Tehsin Zahra conducted hands-on practice session with the students. Faculty and Students from Quaid Campus, Wah Engineering College and Mashal Degree College actively participated in the workshop.

    Commencement 2019 of the University of Wah is tentatively planned to be held on 14th November 2019 (Thursday) at 11:00 hrs for conferring degrees to the graduates who will be completing their degrees during the UW Academic Year 2018-19.

    We are happy to announce that with the kind approval of the Vice Chancellor, the broadcast timings of UW FM 101.8 have been extended from 3:30 PM to 9 PM. With this incorporated duration of FM broadcast will now be "from 8:15 AM to 9:00 PM" (Monday to Friday) starting from June 10, 2019.
