University of Wah (UW) continues to set new benchmarks
in academic excellence, research, and societal impact, driven by its motto of
"Quality Education for All." Since its establishment, UW has grown into
a progressive, research-oriented institution comprising five faculties, 18 departments,
and an academic community of over 5,000 students. Its BS, MS, and PhD programs span
Engineering, Basic Sciences, Computer Science, Management Sciences, and Social Sciences &
Humanities. With over 95% of the faculty recognized as HEC-approved PhD supervisors,
UW ensures the highest academic and research standards.
A well-rounded educational experience lies at the
heart of UW's mission. Students benefit not only from strong industry linkages-
including collaborations with Pakistan's premier manufacturing factory POFs, national
and international strategic R&D organizations- but also from rich co- and extracurricular
opportunities. Community service and civic responsibility are integral to student
life at UW, with numerous outreach initiatives, social development projects, and
volunteer drives fostering a spirit of social contribution.
In 2025, UW reaffirmed its national and international
standing by earning a position in the 401-600 global band in the Times Higher Education
(THE) Impact Rankings out of 2,318 universities. The Quality Assurance Directorate
plays a vital role in maintaining academic integrity and excellence. With a 97.8%
score on the HEC Scorecard, ISO 21001:2018 certification, and memberships in INQAAHE
and APQN, the Directorate reinforces international standards of higher education.
UW strongly believes in teamwork. Emphasis is placed
on establishing academic and industrial linkages with reputable national and international
institutions. Our faculty members, counted among the world's most impactful researchers,
continue to elevate UW's global reputation through groundbreaking work across disciplines.
A milestone achievement was UW's contribution to an international research collaboration
that set a world record in 2024 in neutron imaging resolution of 887 nm- a breakthrough
with far-reaching scientific implications. Details can be seen from our website.
As the world transforms through emerging technologies,
UW remains committed to producing ethical, innovative, and socially responsible
graduates ready to lead Pakistan toward a brighter future. I welcome young students,
researchers and faculty members to be a part of the UW Family.
