The department has the following laboratories to meet the academic requirements of students and faculty members in addition to research and professional needs of the public and private sector organizations.
Particle technology lab provides hands on knowledge on particle processing technology which include comminution and grinding, particle separations, and particle characterization, including measurement of particle characteristics, and mixing. The laboratory is equipped with state of the art apparatus of particle technology like ball mill, pebble ill, disc mill, jaw crusher, two roll crusher, crystallization apparatus, kneader mixer, magnetic separator, sedimentation apparatus, sieve shaker.
Lab Supervisor: Mr. Fazeel Ahmad, Mr. Nazar MehmoodThe computer software lab is equipped with latest computers and Chemical Engineering software. Chemical Engineering students are being trained in ASPEN, HYSIS and PLUS, MATLAB, Polymath and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The training in these software technologies helps them to polish their technical and learning skills.
Lab Supervisor: Mr. Rashed Javed, Mr. Waqas AhmedChemical Engineering and Chemistry collectively have a good contribution in the processes occurring in industries. This laboratory emphasizes on the analysis of raw materials/products which includes the analysis of water, milk, butter and cement etc.
Lab Supervisor: Mr. Fazeel Ahmad, Mr. Nazar MehmoodThe laboratory has flow meter trainer apparatus; pumps test apparatus, Reynold’s Number apparatus. This lab has been developed recently and is of vital attention for students and researchers.
Lab Supervisor: Mr. Usman Asghar, Mr. Waqas KhanThis lab is helpful to develop practical understanding of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels testing. Moreover, a solar panel system has been established in the laboratory which is an indication that the department is well aware of the need to introduce its students to the latest concepts of renewable energy technologies.
Lab Supervisor: Mr. Rashed Javed, Mr. Waqas AhmedThe lab has level control unit, pressure control unit, temperature control unit & flow control unit. The lab is established to provide a “hand-on” environment that is crucial for developing students’ understanding of theoretical concepts and so on.
Lab Supervisor: Mr. Umer Mushtaq, Mr. Waqas AhmedThe Mass Transfer Lab is established to introduce students with the most important separation equipment in the process industry and provide hands-on training of the proper operation of these units. The laboratory has liquid diffusion apparatus, tray dryer, CO2 absorption column, batch distillation column, continuous distillation column and liquid-extraction unit. This helps in not only understanding the theoretical fundamentals of the subject but also to visualize its real-world applications in the process industry.
Lab Supervisor: Mr. Rashed Javed, Ms. Aasia FarrukhThe laboratory is equipped with batch flow reactor, continuous stirred tank reactor and tubular flow reactor. The lab is established to introduce the under-graduate students to the areas of chemical reaction and its kinetics, reactor design and operation.
