Wah Engineering College, University of Wah, is pleased to announce that a student project from the Chemical Engineering Department has won second place in the highly competitive "Industry 4.0 & IoT Project Competition," organized by the Industrial Engineering Department, UET Taxila featuring 45 innovative projects from various institutions. The project "Enhancing Sustainability: A Smart Plant Design for the Generation of 59,000 Tons Per Year of Bio-Oil from Discarded Orange Peel" was supervised by Dr. Saleem Iqbal, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering and led by Ms. Momina Bibi, with team members Arooj Riaz, Usman Ali, and Muhammad Saleem Noor Bhatti. This groundbreaking project focuses on converting waste orange peel into bio-oil, aligning with modern sustainability principles and smart plant design. Their innovative approach addresses waste management issues and contributes to generating renewable energy, demonstrating the practical applications of Industry 4.0 and IoT technologies in the chemical engineering field.
