UW FM 101.8 Radio, "to bring a breath of fresh air to the world of radio and offer book enthusiasts an immersive experience in the world of literature, launched a program series called "Kitab Dost” hosted by Ms. Hina Tariq, a student of BS-V Chemistry Department-UW. The Kitab Dost radio program series is set to captivate the audience with a unique approach to literary exploration. The series will feature programs dedicated to reviewing books penned by various writers and poets and aim to create a platform that not only showcases the rich tapestry of literary works but also provides insightful discussions and analyses. In this context, the first broadcast of the poem “Khawabe Gul Prashan Ha” was dedicated to reviewing and appreciating the poetic style of Ahmad Faraz, a famous legendary Pakistani Urdu poet and scriptwriter who became the founding Director General of the Pakistan Academy of Letters. The second program was about “Kitaben Jhankti Hain Band Almari Ke Sheeshoon Se,” a famous Urdu Nazam written by a renowned poet, Gulzar, an Indian Urdu poet, lyricist, author, screenwriter, and film director. The poem celebrates the notion that books are not just objects but contain a wealth of knowledge and encourages readers to open the doors of their minds and explore the treasure trove of wisdom that books offer.
