Department of Management Sciences, to integrate academic learning with practical industry exposure, organized an industrial visit for BSAF students to Desi Dhaba, Wah Cantt, a prominent player in Pakistan’s restaurant industry, offering a hands-on learning experience in entrepreneurship and food business operations. Students under the supervision of Dr. Syed Shafqat Mukarram (Assistant Professor), along with Dr. Nasir Mehmood (Associate Professor) and Dr. Farhan Shahzad (Lecturer), got the opportunity to engage with the entrepreneurial journey of Desi Dhaba, gaining practical exposure to business model development, innovation in traditional cuisine, customer acquisition strategies, and operational scalability.
During an interactive session with the founding team, students explored startup’s origin story, the challenges it faced, and the milestones it achieved in building a sustainable food venture. A guided tour of the facility allowed students to observe live kitchen operations and workflow management, highlighting the application of lean startup principles in a real-world setting. The visit concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students asked insightful questions about entrepreneurship, risk-taking, and sustainable growth in Pakistan’s competitive food industry.
