University of Wah Science Society (UWSS), in collaboration with Department of Biosciences, organized an enlightening and interactive webinar on “Climate Change and Pakistan” on 07 November 2024. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG 13), focusing on climate action. The session featured distinguished guest speaker Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mehmood (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) from the University of Bahrain and Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan from the Department of Biosciences, who served as the focal person for this insightful event. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mehmood's comprehensive and expert analysis of the impacts of climate change on Pakistan’s diverse geographical regions was a revelation. His analysis highlighted the nation’s vulnerabilities and the consequences of environmental degradation, sparking meaningful discussions among participants. The event, live-streamed on Facebook, attracted a broad audience, including academicians from various institutions. A large group of enthusiastic students also participated in the webinar, gaining valuable insights into the intricate effects of climate change on Pakistan’s environment and ecosystem.
