Department of Economics, in collaboration with Pakistan Economic Forum, hosted an online webinar titled Driving Economic Growth: Connecting Universities, Entrepreneurship, and Manufacturing in Pakistan's Market Economy on 05 January 2025. . The session was moderated by Dr. Sania Saheen, Assistant Professor, Economics Department, and a member of the Pakistan Economic Forum. Mr. Imtiaz Rastgar, Chairman of Rastgar Group, was the keynote speaker, discussing the pathways to achieving sustainable, export-led economic growth. He emphasized the importance of building a competitive manufacturing base, integrating local industries into global supply chains, enhancing infrastructure, education, and skills development. Mr. Rastgar also highlighted the role of universities in mapping business ecosystems, focusing on product development, and collaborating with industries for global competitiveness. With over 90 participants, the webinar concluded with a Q&A segment reflecting the audience's interest in fostering collaboration between academia, entrepreneurship, and manufacturing.
