Department of Biosciences-UW organized a one-day workshop titled “In Silico Analysis of Sequencing Data through Bioinformatic Tools” on 30 October 2024 as part of its continuous efforts to enhance capacity-building initiatives. Ms. Sania Rauf, a Research and Data Analyst from The Diabetes Center, Islamabad, was the guest speaker, and Ms. Naheed Malik, Lecturer, Department of Biosciences, coordinated the event. Participants from diverse disciplines, including scholars and researchers, engaged in the workshop, which created a vibrant interdisciplinary learning and collaborative atmosphere. Ms. Sania Rauf introduced participants to key bioinformatic tools, providing a detailed overview of their applications in sequencing data analysis. The workshop, designed to be interactive, featured sessions where participants actively explored the practical implementation of bioinformatic models to analyze complex biological systems. Hands-on training provided attendees an opportunity to dive into the methodologies discussed, fostering their active engagement and enthusiastic involvement in the learning process. The session concluded with an insightful Q&A, enriching trainees’ understanding of bioinformatics and its potential applications. A commemorative shield was presented to Ms. Sania Rauf to honor her contributions.
