University of Wah (UW), to advance education and research in biochemistry, launched its MS Biochemistry Program in collaboration with Wah Medical College (WMC) in 2023. This not only marked UW's first joint program with an external institute but also underscored the importance of the partnership following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Spring 2023. The top management of UW and WMC met the faculty and graduate students of the Biochemistry program on 6th May 2024. Professor Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor-UW, Maj. General Abdul Khaliq Naveed, HI (M), (Retd), Principal-WMC, Brig Haroon Abbas, Registrar-UW, Prof. Dr. Uzma Ghazanfar, Dean Basic Sciences-UW, Prof. Dr. Musarat Ramadan, Dean-WMC, Prof. Syed Touqeer Abbas, Department of Biochemistry-WMC, Prof. Shahab Khushnood, Department of Mechanical Engineering-WEC, Prof. Dr. Zuhair Subhani Khan, Director ORIC-UW, Prof. Aamir Hanif, Director Academics, Advance Studies & Research-UW, Prof. Syed Waqas Hassan, Director QA&E-UW, Dr. Shumaila Naz, Chairperson Biosciences-UW, faculty members of Biosciences Department-UW and Biochemistry Department-WMC also joined the meeting. The MS students of the program provided useful feedback on the program. Prof. Dr. Zuhair Subhani Khan, Director ORIC, showcased UW's research highlights, and Dr. Shumaila Naz, Chairperson Biosciences, outlined MS Biochemistry program's accomplishments. VC-UW proposed exploring further joint research opportunities with WMC, specially in anticipation of the upcoming biomedical engineering program., Principal-WMC expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, affirming WMC's commitment to providing state-of-the-art lab facilities and active participation in future endeavors. The students' involvement, satisfaction with amenities, and contribution to collaboration made the meeting a triumph.
