Department of Islamic Studies, University of Wah organized an engaging and thought-provoking seminar titled “Laws of Blasphemy and Our Social Responsibilities: An Interactive Session” on 02 May 2024 to foster a deeper understanding of blasphemy laws and our societal obligations. Dr. Rana Tanveer Qasim, Director, Coordination, Punjab Higher Education Commission, was the resource person who delved into the theological underpinnings of blasphemy laws and illustrated the concept with examples from the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He also underscored the contemporary relevance of these laws and emphasized the shared responsibility of parents and educators in monitoring the digital activities of young individuals. Dr. Qasim stressed the preservation of ideological boundaries as paramount for safeguarding future generations, advocating for an introduction to the status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Dr. Musarrat Malik, Chairperson, Department of Islamic Studies, thanked all participants and invited the Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, to present university souvenirs to the esteemed guests.
