Department of Biosciences, University of Wah, to prepare students to contribute meaningfully to climate-smart solutions, organized an awareness seminar titled “Climate Smart Agriculture” on 09 July 2025 as part of its campaign aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action. The seminar aimed to promote sustainable agricultural practices and environmental responsibility among students.
Renowned guest speaker Prof. Dr. Farooq Hussain Munis, Professor at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, delivered an engaging talk on climate-resilient farming. He emphasized the importance of adopting drought- and pest-resistant crop varieties, water conservation techniques such as drip irrigation, and sustainable practices like intercropping and crop rotation.
Dr. Munis also highlighted emerging trends in precision agriculture and the use of digital technologies for efficient resource management, sharing global examples from China and the United States to inspire innovative and forward-thinking approaches among participants.
