Department of Economics, University of Wah, in collaboration with Pakistan Economic Forum, organized a two-day online workshop titled “Academic Writing & Success in Reputable Journals” on 12–13 April 2025. The workshop aimed to enhance the research and academic writing skills of participants, particularly in the context of publishing in high-impact journals.
The session was moderated by Dr. Sania Shaheen, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, University of Wah. Dr. Sajid Ali Yousuf Zai, a distinguished academician and data analysis expert with over 13 years of experience in teaching, research, and professional training, was the resource person and guest speaker.
Dr. Yousuf Zai delivered a comprehensive and practical guide to academic writing, beginning with strategies to formulate effective and impactful research titles. His lecture covered all key components of a scholarly article, including the abstract, keywords, introduction, literature review, methodology, data analysis & discussion, conclusion, and policy recommendations. The session also addressed the latest HEC policies on research publications, focusing on the revised framework for journal classification and publication standards.
The workshop attracted wide participation from students, faculty members, and researchers across various universities in Pakistan. The interactive Q&A session at the end of the workshop provided participants with the opportunity to engage directly with the speaker, enriching the overall learning experience.
