Department of Management Sciences-UW, to foster industry-academia linkages and prepare students for future professional endeavors, organized a thought-provoking seminar titled “Navigating Career Opportunities in Banking: Emerging Trends and Future Prospects” on 11 April 2025. The seminar aimed to equip students with a deeper understanding of banking sector and to inspire them to explore diverse career paths within the financial industry. The session featured Mr. Muhammad Umar, Manager at HBL, Taxila Branch, as the guest speaker. Mr. Umar delivered an engaging and informative talk that provided students with valuable insights into the dynamic world of banking. His presentation covered a comprehensive range of topics, including the core functions of banks, the pivotal role of the State Bank of Pakistan, and the significant contribution of commercial banks to the country’s economic development. He also shed light on the various career roles available in the banking industry, highlighting future trends and opportunities for aspiring professionals.
