University of Wah conducted an education outreach session on 18 February 2025 at Govt. Associate College and Govt. Degree College for Women at Hazro. This initiative aimed to foster awareness about environmental challenges, career pathways, and higher education opportunities.
A team of faculty members, including Dr. Saleem Iqbal (Chairperson, Chemical Engineering), Mr. Waqas (Chemical Engineering Department), Ms. Irum Fatima (Department of Chemistry), and Ms. Faiza Bukhari (Electrical Engineering Department), led the interactive sessions. The event commenced with a session on Smog and Environmental Protection, where students learned about air pollution, its adverse effects on health, and practical measures to mitigate environmental damage. The discussion emphasized individual and collective responsibility in promoting sustainability. Following this, a Career Counseling session gave students insights into evolving career landscapes, essential skills for professional success, and opportunities in engineering and scientific fields. Faculty members highlighted the importance of informed decision-making in shaping academic and career trajectories.
The outreach ended with an Admission Awareness session, where students learned about academic programs, scholarships, and admission procedures at the University of Wah. As a gesture of appreciation, shields were presented to the Principals of both colleges for their collaboration.
