Mechanical engineering is a very diverse profession involving design of machines, devices, various products, controls systems, generation, conversion, transmission and utilization of mechanical and thermal power. Mechanical engineers' assignments often include analysis and synthesis of mechanical, thermal and fluid systems. Manufacturing systems, robotics and electromechanical devices also fall in the purview of mechanical engineering. Graduates of this field are among the most sought after and enjoy professional engagement in industry, government organizations, consulting and research organizations.
