Directorate of Student Affairs, University of Wah, organized a vibrant and memorable celebration for Pakistan's 77th Independence Day on 13 August 2024. The festivities commenced with a tree-planting ceremony, a symbol of our commitment to environmental sustainability, led by our esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi. He also led the prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan. The following Azadi Walk was a testament to our students' enthusiasm, with Ms. Shehla Nazmeen, Deputy Director of Student Affairs DDSA-UW, and Engr. Waqas Javid, DDSA-WEC, is leading the way. The celebration was a perfect blend of entertainment and education. It featured engaging activities such as painting, sketching, patriotic poetry, a shadow performance, debates, historical discussions, trivia, and a historical film screening. These activities were to deepen the participants' understanding of our nation’s history and the significance of Independence Day. Students from COMSATS University, Islamabad and Wah campuses, Wah Medical College, and Riphah International University participated enthusiastically in the events. Ms. Samreen Haider, Lecturer, Islamic Studies Department delivered a special historical overview of Pakistan's formation, offering valuable insights into the country's journey to independence. The event concluded with a closing ceremony where certificates were awarded to the winners of various competitions, followed by a heartwarming group photo capturing the spirit of unity, patriotism, and pride that defines Independence Day.
