Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, on the invitation of Dr. Walther Schwarzacher, Dean and Professor of Physics, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, attended the 9th Abdus Salam Memorial Lecture on 16 February 2024, organized by Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, LUMS, Lahore, to pay tribute to the profound legacy of one of Pakistan’s most revered scientists, and actively participated in the ensuing discussion with other academic luminaries, students, and enthusiasts. The event was graced by distinguished astrophysicist and educator Prof. Yousef Sobouti from the University of Zanjan, Iran. He is the founder of the Institute for Advanced Sciences in Basic Sciences and has played a crucial role in advancing scientific education and research in the developing world. Prof. Sobouti, in his reflective address, reminisced about his interactions with the venerable Abdus Salam and shared profound insights gleaned from his experiences establishing world-class institutions in Iran. The lecture not only celebrated the legacy of the renowned physicist but also emphasized the importance of promoting scientific inquiry and innovation culture to advance knowledge and nurture future scientific leaders.
