Wah Engineering College (WEC), in a concerted effort to combat misinformation and promote ethical digital engagement, held an enlightening session titled "Media Literacy and Awareness on PECA Act" on 21 May 2025. The event focused on fostering responsible media usage while raising awareness about the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). With the theme “Countering the Spread of Misinformation and Fake News Across Social and Electronic Media,” the session aimed to empower participants with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate today’s complex digital landscape.
A diverse audience, including Chairpersons, Program Heads, Faculty Members, and Students from all engineering disciplines, such as Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, and Software Engineering, enthusiastically participated in the session. Engr. Arsalan Raza, Lecturer, Civil Engineering Department, led the session, offering practical insights into tackling misinformation, understanding the PECA Act, and promoting digital responsibility.
