Department of Electrical Engineering-UW hosted an impactful Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar titled "The IC Design in Pakistan: Opportunities and Challenges", aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, on 16 January 2025, at Wah Engineering College (WEC). Dr. Haroon Waris, Project Director at NECOP and resource person for the event, delivered the keynote address, discussing the growth potential of Pakistan's integrated circuit (IC) design sector and the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government. The seminar, which attracted students, faculty, and industry professionals, highlighted the role of IC design in technological advancement and Pakistan's potential in the global semiconductor industry. Dr. Sohaira Ahmad, Chairperson, Department of Electrical Engineering, presented a souvenir to the distinguished guest as a token of appreciation.
