UW FM 101.8 radio celebrated Quaid Day on 25 December 2024, with a special transmission aired on UW radio to honor the vision and leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and to highlight his timeless contributions to the creation of Pakistan. The special transmission that was aimed to inspire listeners, particularly the younger generation, to reflect on Quaid’s teachings and incorporate his values of faith, unity, and discipline into their lives was successfully conducted under the guidance of Mr. Umer Hayat Khan, Station Manager, Radio. It featured a series of insightful talks delivered by distinguished scholars and experts, focusing on various aspects of Quaid’s life and ideology.
The special transmission began with an engaging discussion by Prof. Dr. Fakhrul Islam, Director, Pakistan Studies Center at Peshawar University. He reflected on the Quaid’s role in the struggle for Pakistan and how his vision continues to resonate with national progress. Following him, Dr. Sana Ur Rehman, Assistant Professor, Department of English, University of Lahore, spoke eloquently on the relevance of Quaid’s ideology in shaping the nation’s future and the importance of unity and discipline in achieving collective goals.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf, Chairman, Political Science Department, University of Peshawar, provided a comprehensive analysis of Quaid-e-Azam’s political philosophy and its significance in contemporary governance. His talk emphasized the need to revisit Quaid’s principles for the development of a just and equitable society. Adding to the discourse, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Sciences, SZABIST University Islamabad, shed light on the challenges facing the youth today and the guidance they can draw from Quaid’s leadership and values.
Ms. Samreen Haider, Lecturer, Department of Islamic Studies, University of Wah also in her inspiring session discussed Quaid’s vision for a harmonious and inclusive society, emphasizing the importance of understanding and adhering to his ideals for national prosperity.
The transmission concluded with a broadcast of a motivational video made by fourteen talented students from the various departments of University who pledged to follow the footsteps of the great Quaid.
