Directorate of Student Affairs, University of Wah, as per instructions of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), conducted a Drug Awareness Session on 10 March 2025. Assistant Director at Anti-Narcotics Force Mr. Muhammad Aamir Khurshid, a seasoned expert in Drug Demand Reduction and Rehabilitation Services with 16 years of experience, and Dr. Zara Kiran, a distinguished gold medalist medical professional with extensive expertise in emergency medicine and academia, led the awareness session. Currently serving as a Medical Officer at MATRC Islamabad, Dr. Zara Kiran delivered an insightful presentation on the medical consequences of drug abuse, prevention strategies, and rehabilitation options.
The session also featured an engaging Q&A segment, allowing students to address their concerns regarding drug addiction and its impact. The ANF team also displayed drug samples for educational purposes. Dr. Bilal, Director, Directorate of Student Affairs-UW, presented a shield to Dr. Zara Kiran as a token of appreciation and thanked the ANF team for their efforts. The event concluded with a group photo and an awareness campaign, reinforcing the university’s commitment to a drug-free environment.
