University of Wah successfully organized the 9th Multi-Disciplinary Student Research International Conference (MDSRIC 2024) from 16-17 October 2024. This significant event brought together scholars and researchers from different countries, providing a collaborative platform to address pressing technological, scientific, and socio-economic challenges. The two-day conference attracted over 150 participants and was a melting pot of diverse ideas and perspectives, stimulating intellectual discourse across a broad spectrum of disciplines. Renowned speakers from Türkiye and Pakistan gave informative presentations on a wide range of topics, including Humanities, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, Fine Arts, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, Leadership, Business Management, Pharmacy, Nutritional Sciences, Nuclear Astrophysics, as well as various branches of Engineering such as Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil, and Biomedical. The discussions further encompassed areas like Data Science, Material Science, Physics, Electronics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Wah, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, accentuated the critical role of international partnerships in shaping a prosperous future, particularly in fields like Behavioral Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, and Sustainable Energy. He warmly welcomed the diverse group of delegates, emphasizing the value of their contributions and encouraging young researchers to seize this opportunity to advance their careers and drive multidisciplinary innovation. He also emphasized the need for robust scientific, economic, and cultural collaboration between brotherly countries Pakistan and Türkiye to promote world peace.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Anwar-ul-Hassan Gilani, S.I., H.I., distinguished National Professor and Fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, applauded the University of Wah for organizing a platform that encourages intellectual exchange between students and academics. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in tackling complex social, political, and scientific issues. Prof. Dr. Gilani also enlightened the audience about ‘Sustainable Development, focusing on Food Security and Health.’ He emphasized that by following the teachings of Islam, we can prevent diseases such as obesity and diabetes. He also focused on the role of the environment in sustainable development and proposed that, as part of community work, every student should plant at least five trees.
The event included keynote addresses from distinguished Turkish scholars, such as Prof. Nihal Buyukcizmeci, Prof. Necla Cakmak, Prof. Yasin Polat, and Prof. Ismail Sarpun. Additionally, prominent Pakistani academics, including Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmad Bhatti, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Athar Siddiqui, Prof. Dr. Mohsin Siddiq, Prof. Dr. Muazzam Ali Khan Khattak, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rashid, and Dr. Saifullah, provided valuable insights at the conference. MDSRIC 2024 concluded with a resounding commitment to continued collaboration and exploration of emerging technologies and social challenges. This commitment instilled a sense of hope and optimism about the potential for future partnerships and joint research projects initiated through the conference.
