Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, participated as the resource person for the daylong phase-1 activities of the Future Leaders Training Program at International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) on 10 June 2024. The program, meticulously organized by the Office of Professional Training under the insightful guidance of the Vice President (Research & Enterprise), aimed to cultivate sustainable change and transformation by enhancing university faculty members' leadership and management skills. The initiative provided a unique platform for Associate and Assistant Professors to bolster their leadership potential and covered key topics such as governance, maintaining teaching and research standards, and building national and international reputations. During his address, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President of IIUI, underscored the pivotal role of leaders in transforming organizations & nations, highlighted the profound impact of technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence. He also stressed the necessity for visionary leaders to embrace change, effective time management, intelligent solutions, adaptability, and emotional intelligence in decision-making and future planning. During an inaugural session, General (R). Zubair Mahmood Hayat, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), emphasized the importance of grooming senior leadership for a bright future, accentuated the key role of education in Islam, and stressed the need for truth, simplicity, curiosity, and embracing technology in leadership. He advised the youth to be dynamic, relevant, and inclusive, prioritizing reading, exploring the world, and being original. Prof. Tahir Mahmood Chaudhry, Institutional Excellence Advisor and CEO and Ms. Noor Amna Malik, MD NAHE, along with VC-UW, were the resource persons for the phase-1 activities. Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi’s participation in the Future Leaders Training Program reflects his dedication to fostering leadership and academic excellence, and his contributions are expected to inspire and equip faculty members with the skills needed to lead and innovate in education.
