Department of Biosciences, to promote research and ecological awareness among students, organized a one-day study trip on 01 January 2025 to Shah Allahditta, Islamabad. Students of BS Biosciences, 5th semester, collected over 30 plant specimens for preservation and submission to the Central Herbarium, University of Wah. Guided by Mr. Jehangir Khan, In-charge of the Central Herbarium, and Ms. Zeenat Haq, Lecturer, Department of Biosciences, students learned about the significance of plant biodiversity and conservation. Mr. Jehangir Khan emphasized the importance of preserving plant biodiversity for ecological balance and scientific study and also elaborated on the methods and protocols for proper specimen collection and preservation. Ms. Zeenat Haq highlighted the unique characteristics of the Indigenous plants found in Shah Allahditta region, enhancing the student's understanding of the local flora and ecosystem. The trip enriched students' academic understanding and emphasized the importance of environmental conservation.
