Author Guidelines

1. For Abstract Submission

Your abstract should provide a brief summary of the research conducted, the conclusions reached, and the potential implications of those conclusions. Use the same header/logos as shown in the Abstract Template A strong abstract will also:

1.1 Consist of a single paragraph up to 250 words, with correct grammar and unambiguous terminology
1.2 Be self-contained; without abbreviations, footnotes, references, or mathematical equations
1.3 Highlight what is novel in your work
1.4 Include 3-5 keywords or phrases that describe the research, with any abbreviations clearly defined, to help readers find your article Keywords

Using the 4-5 keywords in your article can make it more easily and reliably discoverable which leads to a broader readership for your article.

2.For Poster Submission

2.1 Poster Specifications

  • Use the same header/logos as shown in the Poster Template
  • Your poster should cover the key points of your research, which include but are not limited to background, methods, results and conclusion. Make your poster as self-explanatory as possible.
  • Authors should get their poster printed. A poster stand will be provided at the assigned venue.

2.2 Tips for Designing Your Poster:

  • Title and Heading Font Size: Ensure the title is large and easy to read from a distance. Subheadings should be slightly smaller but still prominent.
  • Body Text Font Size: Use a readable font size, typically between 17-24 pt for the main text.
  • Color Scheme: Use a consistent color scheme that is professional and aids readability.
  • Visual Balance: Ensure a balanced layout with appropriate use of white space
  • Graphics Quality: Use high-resolution images and clear, well-labeled graphs.
  • Bullet Points: Use bullet points for clarity and brevity.
  • Alignment: Align text and images to create a clean and organized look.

2.3 Poster Dimensions

  • Poster should have the following dimensions A0 size (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm) or (33.1 inches x 46.8 inches).
  • Please note that printing out your full submitted paper in A4 size format is NOT acceptable as a poster.

2.4 Poster Content

  • Title: The title of your poster should appear at the top with lettering of at least 42 pt font size. Below the title, you should place the names of authors and their affiliations.
  • Text: Text should be readable from five feet away. Use a minimum font size of 17-24 pt. Keep the text brief. Try to use text to introduce the study, explain visuals and direct viewers’ attention to significant data trends and relationships portrayed in the visuals, and state and explain the interpretations that follow from the data. It is also a good idea to include future research plans or questions for discussion with viewers in your text.
  • Figures/Tables: Each figure/table should have a brief title. Figures/tables should be numbered consecutively according to the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. Try to use color figures rather than only black and white text to make your poster attractive and highlight the important technical content of your paper. Make sure that the text and the visuals are integrated.

3. Full-Length Article Submission

3.1 General Information

  • All submissions made at mdsrc@uow.edu.pk must be in English either US or UK. All papers must be original and unpublished work.
  • By submitting your work, you agree to allow MDSRIC reviewers to screen your work for plagiarism.
  • The suggested length for full papers is between 4 to 6 pages, including all text, tables, figures, and references. We encourage all authors to use as much of the allowed space to effectively explain their work.
  • Please use the MDSRIC Paper Template (Word) to prepare your paper.

3.2 Corresponding Author

  • Each paper submitted to MDSRIC must have a designated corresponding author assigned.
  • The corresponding author is responsible for all activities related to the paper submission.
  • The corresponding author acts as the assigned manager of the paper and should have the authority to speak collectively on behalf of all authors.

3.3 Camera-Ready Paper Submission
Authors of accepted papers will be advised of the next steps and will be required to move forward with additional requirements and deadlines related to the final submission process.

4. Oral Presentation Guidelines

4.1 All authors are required to use electronic presentations. Presentation files must be in Windows-compatible PowerPoint (*.ppt or *.pptx). Other platform users should ensure that their presentations will show correctly using the Windows operating system.

4.2 Each oral talk (with the exception of plenary talks) is allocated 10 minutes total: 05 minutes of presentation time followed by 5 minutes of questions & answers. Please prepare your presentation accordingly and adhere strictly to these time limits.

4.3 All presentation files must be emailed prior to the start of your session. The exact requirements for your upload will be announced in a separate email to the author.

4.4 The presentations must be in English.
