  • Seminar on Breast Cancer Awareness

    Mashal Degree College, in collaboration with Wah Medical College, organized a seminar on “Breast Cancer Awareness” on 07 November, 2017 at UW Auditorium. Dr Afshan Haroon, Registrar POFs Hospital, Dr Sadia Nadeem and Dr Ambreen Ansar were the guest speakers for the event. The speakers divulged at length on facts and figures about breast cancer risks, causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Female faculty and students from University of Wah attended the lecture in large number. Seminar was followed by an interactive question answer session.

    Sixth convocation of University of Wah was held on 2 November, 2017. His Excellency Mr. Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Governor of the Punjab and Chancellor University of Wah was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A total of 350 graduates were awarded under-graduate and graduate degrees in the disciplines of Engineering, Basic Sciences, Computer Sciences, Management Sciences and Social Sciences & Humanities. 35 high achievers were awarded medals and Distinguished Student’s Award in their respective faculties. A large number of parents of graduating students and community representatives attended the convocation ceremony. Governor of the Punjab congratulated the graduating students in general and the award winners in particular. He also appreciated the efforts of the University in striving towards bringing positive shift in the society coupled with the changes that innovation brings. He also acknowledged the focused approach of the University towards knowledge economy and the efforts of the University in organizing an impressive and flawless ceremony. Vice Chancellor University of Wah, Prof Khaliq ur Rehman Shad SI(M), highlighted the salient achievements of the University since its inception. He apprised the gathering about the increasing intake and infrastructural up-gradations and enhancements. He also highlighted that the University of Wah is committed to a value based integrated educational philosophy and aims to develop socially responsible generation of professionals, researchers and leaders for the nation. The Vice Chancellor thanked the Chief Guest and guests for their presence at the Convocation. He also advised the graduates to exploit on the foundations laid by the University and participate in the progress and development of the country wholeheartedly. The Chief Guest and the Vice Chancellor also extended their felicitations to the graduates and their parents and wished them good luck for future.

  • Workshop on Enhancing Research Competency of SS Faculty

    Department of Education, University of Wah organized a five day training workshop titled “Enhancing Research Competency of Social Sciences Faculty” under USAID, Pakistan. Thirty participants from various universities of Islamabad, Southern and Central Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the workshop with the aim of developing research caliber and promoting research culture in their respective universities. The resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Nasrullah, Dr Syed Tanveer Hussain Shah, Dr Sadaf Zamir Ahmed, Dr Sajid Ali Yousuf Zai, Dr Kamal Ahmed Soomro, Dr Afshan Huma, Prof Zulfiqar and Prof Uzma Ghazanfar. The interactive sessions provided an extraordinary learning opportunity for faculty and research scholars. The resource persons shared their knowledge and experiences with the participants. Prof Khaliq ur Rehman Shad SI(M), Vice Chancellor, University of Wah was chief guest at the closing ceremony. He appreciated the organizing team for their efforts for a successful event. He thanked USAID for funding a very useful workshop for professional development of faculty of Social Sciences. In the end he distributed shields among the resource persons and certificates among the participants.
