INTRODUCTION

Keeping up with its yearly tradition, with the added promise of being bigger and better, University of Wah Science Society is back with another mega event.
UW-Science Fun-Gamma 2025: A Fif-tastic Celebration is the ultimate playground for inquisitive minds. We believe that learning science should be as entertaining as it is educational. Our event is a fusion of fun and gamma rays of knowledge, igniting the spark of curiosity in every student who walks through our doors.

Join us at Science Fun-gamma and embark on a journey through the wonders of science, guided by passionate experts and filled with laughter and astonishment. Students from nearby institutes will have a chance to be familiar with recent advancements in Natural Sciences (Biosciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics) and to share their innovative ideas and collaborate at national level.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

● To induce a passion for Natural Sciences among students.
● To provide exposure to college students about university life.
● To polish analytical and theoretical skills of students.
● To train students to conquer the real time challenges faced in discipline and industry.
● To develop strong communication and interpersonal skills to accomplish leadership roles

HISTORY:

Launched in 2021, University of Wah Science Society provides a platform for fostering better understanding of science among members and the community. It has been organizing educational programs and seminars for science advocacy. UW Science Fun-gamma, first launched in 2022, has brought a new sense of learning with fun for students. It has inspired the next generation and motivated young minds to pursue careers in science (to the extent some winners of modules have gone on to be enrolled in BS Hons programs in University of Wah).

Registration Process:

1. Registration can be done in three ways:
- 1. Through our website http://www.uow.edu.pk/uwss/ . Generate your voucher, submit your dues in UW Account and attach a copy of the paid voucher in the form.
- 2. Through Google Form Link: https://forms.gle/oD8JsXb5J2rN6ds98 . Submit the required registration fees in Easy Paisa Account at 0316-0580685 (President UWSS Hafiz Muhammad Nouman). Attach a screenshot of the receipt.
- 3. On-Desk registrations in UW and WEC Campus. Participants can pay the registration fee on desk in campus or in the Easy Paisa account 0316-0580685 (Hafiz Muhammad Nouman).
2. As per team registrations every team member will pay the registration fee individually.
3. Please upload your paid receipt.
4. Once payment has been confirmed, participants can enter the premises of UW Science Fun-Gamma.

Rules and Regulations

● The registration fee must be paid for everyone separately, i.e., for every team member.
● Minimum and maximum members in a team are written under the Team label.
● To register, you must currently be a student at an educational institute.
● Bring your student ID card with you.
● Participants should bring CNIC for their identification and event card (issued by the Team - UWSS).
● Participants must reach the required venue for their module at least 15 minutes prior; otherwise they may be disqualified from the module.
● Participants can bring their family guests (CNIC will be required) by taking an additional entrance pass from the Team UWSS.
● UWSS has the right to drop any event or change the prize money in case of unforeseen events.
● All participants are required to respect the prestige of the University of Wah Campus. Any damage to university property or aggressive behavior within the campus premises will be dealt with according to campus disciplinary policy.
● Any sort of misbehavior, offensive attitude, fighting, and/or use of abusive language shall not be tolerated on campus.
● Smoking within the campus premises is not allowed.

MODULES

Science Mockups

(From Imagination to innovation: Science in Model and Poster)

This module will be divided into two types: Poster Presentation and Model Presentation. Participants will display their crafted models and designed scientific posters that represent the forefront of Green Pakistan and Research Topic. Whether it’s the intricacies of biology, the precision of mathematics, or the marvels of physics, the molecular realms of chemistry or the analytical landscape of statistics, Science Mockup showcases it all. The size of the scientific poster for poster presentation is maximum up to 33 x 48 inches including borders in portrait form (33 inches Width and 48 inches length).

(Where learning comes to life)
An electrifying journey through the worlds of Basic Sciences. From mind-bending physics experiments to fascinating biological phenomenon and dissections, it is a hands-on experience like no other. Join us in this immersive exploration and let the magic of science unfold before your eyes.

● Inside Out – (Frog and Flower dissections, Department of Biosciences)
● See Me – (Observing unicellular objects under a light microscope, Department of Biosciences)
● Bio-mystery (Demonstration of embryological development, Invertebrates phyla, Osteology, Department of Biosciences)

STEM Quest

(Fueling minds, igniting futures)
This Question Based Module is your gateway to the thrilling world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Participants will appear in teams to answer the question while the clock ticks away. There will be five separate categories (Biosciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics).

Scienceflix

(Revisualizing the universe)

Each participant is required to select one topic from the below provided topics and submit a 3 minutes PowerPoint presentation with voiceover explaining the topics in detail, preferably in video format. (Biosciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics). The participants must send in their submissions at uwss@uow.edu.pk well before the deadline i.e., Wednesday 25^th March, 2026 (11.59 pm). Note No acceptance after the deadline and late submission would not be entertained.

Scientific Treasure Hunt

(Every step makes you closer to your destiny!)
Probably the most famous module, participating teams will work through a series of clues and scientific riddles to reach the target and final goal line. Crammed with fascinating puzzles and clues spread across the whole campus, each one leading to the next. To win this module, agility with wisdom will be tested in cracking the clues and puzzles.

Intellect insight

(Let’s crack it up!)
Intellect Insight is designed to assess the participants’ scientific knowledge related to Muslim scientists’ contributions to the development of science. Teams will be required to guess the personality and invention while being provided the hints needed.

Science on the Clock

(Share your own knowledge and wisdom)

In this innovative module, students will be required to submit their own 3-minute videos, explaining Science with AI, and get a chance to win! The participants may share their own research work. The participant must send in their submissions at uwss@uow.edu.pk well before the deadline i.e., Wednesday 25^th March, 2026 (11.59 pm). Note No acceptance after the deadline and late submission would not be entertained.

Science Techathon

(Where numbers become your greatest adventure)

Designed to challenge and inspire, this program not only hones problem-solving skills but cultivates a profound understanding of beauty and significance of science. Participants can participate in online mode and will be required to solve and submit quiz in a fixed amount of time in the field of Biosciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics on Monday 30^th March 2026 (11.00 AM-02.00PM PST). This module is designed to equip students with skills and knowledge to effectively communicate scientific ideas in 5 minutes through compelling speeches and evidence-based arguments on various topics concerning scientific community globally and Science with AI.

(solve your way through!)

This module encompasses an engaging science-themed crosswords that cover various disciplines, from biology and chemistry to physics, mathematics and statistics that will put students’ problem-solving skills to the test.

This module will be divided into two activities: Junk Design and Miniature Gardening. An eco-friendly activity in which participants will come up with artistic depictions using recycled materials to promote Sustainable Development Goals 12 &13.

Students from colleges and other universities will visit research labs in groups to get familiar with the research facilities available at University of Wah.

Talent Topia

This audience-favorite module continues periodically to change the taste of technical modules. Students can participate and get the chance to win gifts and prizes.

Science on Wheels

(Igniting curiosity and passion)

This module presents a chance for all students alike to witness mind-blowing science experiments and phenomenon, courtesy of Virtual University of Pakistan. This will offer young college and university students a hands-on experience, fostering practical skills and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. Students will be able to gain insights into the phenomena behind scientific laws and principles through the physical examination of experiments.
