Spring 2021 Rejoining Policy

  1. 1. University of Wah (UW) is pleased to announce the reopening of the University for Spring 2021 semester with effect from 16 February 2021.
  2. 2. In view of the safety measures required to be implemented for prevention of the spread of COVID-19, a hybrid plan for academic activities has been developed to reduce the strength of students at the Campuses. On-campus academic activities for different semesters will be conducted as mentioned below and for the remaining period classes will be held online:
  3. a. BS 4th Semester : 16th February - 19th March 2021 (five weeks)
  4. b. BS 6th Semester : 22nd March - 23rd April 2021 (five weeks)
  5. c. BS 2nd Semester : 26th April - 28th May 2021 (five weeks)
  6. d. BS 8th Semester : 16th February 2021 onwards (some classes online as well)
  7. e. MA/MSc/MS/PhD : 16th February 2021 onwards (some classes online as well)
  8. 3. Respective Chairpersons will issue the academic programs by 11 February 2021.
  9. 4. During the period assigned to each semester for on-campus activities, more focus will be on FYPs/ Practical conductions, Labs of Fall-2020 for which “I” grade was assigned. The practical classes will be conducted on accelerated pace during this period.
  10. 5. For on-campus classes, students have been grouped in sections with reduced class strength. Concerned departments will approach their students on their official email to apprise them about the schedule of respective group. Queries, if any, may be directed to the focal person of respective department as mentioned in the attachment below.
  11. 6. Classes will continue in the hybrid mode until HEC / GoP allows conduct of classes with full strength.
  12. 7. In case of concerns about attending classes during COVID-19, the student may choose to freeze the semester according to the University rules.
  13. 8. Priority for hostel accommodation will be given to the students from far flung areas attending on-campus classes. All students desirous of availing the hostel accommodation will have to apply for it through their respective Chairperson. Hostel will be occupied a day before the start of the online classes and vacated on the last day. Space permitting, some other students having connectivity issues at their homes may be accommodated in the hostel for attending online classes.
  14. 9. University transport for the faculty and students will ply on the designated routes with effect from 16 February 2021.
  15. 10. All students will report to the University/ hostel along with the health declaration. The undertaking in this regard will be handed over by the student to the respective class tutors/ hostel wardens on the first day of their rejoining the University/ hostel. Specimen is attached.
  16. 11. In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, all students are expected to adhere to the following precautionary measures:-
  17. a. Wearing of mask is MANDATORY. Masks will also be available on cash payment at the entry gates and student’s canteen.
  18. b. Cooperate with the staff deputed at the entrance gate for taking the temperature and sanitizing the hands. Use ONLY the designated entrances and exits.
  19. c. Maintain social/ physical distancing in classrooms, laboratories, libraries, cafeterias, offices, corridors and staircases to the extent possible. All gatherings are disallowed.
  20. d. NO HANDSHAKE POLICY is to be adopted by all.
  21. e. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
  22. f. Hands should be washed frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water or use a hand sanitizer.
  23. g. Use a tissue (and dispose it off properly) or use the crook of your elbow when coughing or sneezing.
  24. h. If students themselves or any of their family members at home develop any COVID symptoms, he/she should consult their doctor, stay at home and inform their respective Department.
  25. 12. In view of the changing environment or instructions from HEC/PHEC/PEC, the competent authority of University may make necessary changes in the policy given above. Students should regularly check for the latest updates and general guidance provided by the University on the web portal.
