Environment Awareness Campaign

Environmental Society, UW organized an Environment Awareness Campaign on 13 March, 2017 in UW Auditorium. Prof. Khaliq ur Rehman Shad SI (M), Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, was the chief guest on the occasion. Maj. Imran Minhas (Retd.), Manager Coord, WEC, and Dr. Muhammad Idrees, Department of Biosciences were the key note speakers. Maj. Imran Minhas (Retd.) highlighted various problems related to use of polythene bags faced by the occupants of Wah cantt. He elaborated how the use of polythene bags is dangerous to human and animal lives. He also suggested some remedies and alternates. Dr. Muhammad Idrees, Department of Biosciences, apprised the audience about the effects of climate change and global warming on human lives. He also presented a few solutions to the common problems we are facing. Students of Department of Biosciences presented a drama regarding the untidy habits of students. President Students’ Council also delivered a speech titled, “Who is Responsible for Environmental Pollution?”

At the end Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, presented the certificates to the speakers. He was appreciative of the efforts done by the Environmental Society. He also advised the students to refrain from extensive use of cell phone and noise pollution.

After the seminar students of Environmental Society carried out a cleanliness activity and cleaned the campus premises, motivating others to keep the campus and the environment clean and pollution free. Motivating and informative banners were also displayed in Quaid Campus.
